Maximilianeum: Solar system on the roof of the Bavarian Parliament
The photovoltaic system on the roof of the Bavarian Parliament was bundled in the Solarpark Isar 2004 of Green City, in which citizens could participate.
- Commissioning: 2004
- Power: 20 kWp
- Annual production: 18 MWh
The solar system on the Maximilianeum, the seat of the Bavarian State Parliament and the Maximilaneum Foundation, produces around 18,000 kWh of solar power per year with an output of 20.04 kWp. As a landmark of Munich, the solar power plants on the parliament building make a symbolic contribution to the expansion of renewable energies.
On 17.03.2005 the official inauguration of this facility took place in the presence of the President of the Landtag Alois Glück (CSU) as well as several members of the SPD and Greens. Previously, a billboard had been installed, which made it clear to the deputies, administrative staff and not least to the citizens that “heavenly” energy is being converted into electricity on the roof.
