"Pioneer of the energy turnaround": Green City receives another award from TÜV SÜD

For the third time in a row, Green City AG was able to convince the jury and can thus continue to bear the TÜV SÜD seal of approval “Pioneer of the energy turnaround”. Following the successful initial certification in 2017, the Munich-based energy and transport transformation company has demonstrated a high level of consistency in the required sustainability standards during the re-certification process. Every 12 months a regular audit is carried out, which also examines new products, areas and planned projects, and without which the certificate cannot be renewed.

What makes the TÜV SÜD seal so special is that the entire company is put to the test to ensure compliance with the strict criteria. The label “Energy Turnaround Company” is only awarded under high requirements; currently, only one other company apart from Green City bears this label. The decisive factor for certification is that the company has an above-average share in the generation and supply of renewable energies, that its activities both increase the share of renewable energies and reduce the consumption of raw materials and energy, and that it contributes to a flexible energy supply. Green City AG was convincing in all areas.

The trio of success: solar power, tenant electricity, charging station

Three points, among others, contributed to the positive assessment: First, the acquisition of a solar hybrid power plant in Corsica. Here, a special energy management system enables an optimised and demand-oriented feed into the grid. Plus points were also awarded for the creation of an electric mobility concept including tenant electricity and the realisation and installation of the first public charging station with Giro-e in Munich.

Jens Mühlhaus, CEO of Green City AG, is pleased to accept the renewed award: “The requirements of the TÜV SÜD-seal go far beyond the criteria of other green electricity seals. The certification proves that we have firmly anchored the strict guidelines in our corporate policy and are also consistently implementing them in practice, and we are pleased that our commitment to the expansion of renewable energies is being recognized in this way”.
