Solarpark Weißenfels: Largest green city plant in Germany under its own development

The Weißenfels SolarPark is a fund and was fully placed in October 2012.

The Weißenfels solar park was built before the political end of solar energy in Germany in 2011. Funding was made possible through a closed-end civic participation fund. The solar power plant is located in the municipality of Weißenfels (district Of Reichardtswerben). With about 41,000 inhabitants, it is the most populous town in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt. The plant was planned, built in 2011 and connected to the grid on 20 December 2011. The solar park covers an area of about 15.2 hectares.
