Successful sale of Italian hydropower plants
Treviso, Italy – The sale of three Italian hydropower plants from Green City has been successfully completed. The transaction concerns the “Orsolina”, “Biois” and “Codalonga” plants in the north of the country. The buyer is the multi-utility company ACSM S.p.A., also based in northern Italy.
The hydroelectric power plant “Orsolina” is located in the province of Belluno, near the municipality of Borca di Cadore. It was the tenth Green City hydropower plant in Italy and is powered by a Pelton turbine powered by an underground pressure line with a rated output of around 1,800 kW.
Also in the province of Belluno is the hydroelectric power plant “Biois”. The power plant is operated with two Francis turbines. The water flow rate is 2,100 l/s, the installed capacity is 699 kW.
In the Venetian Dolomites, the hydroelectric power plant “Codalonga” is located near the Civetta ski area. The annual electricity production amounts to 1.7 million kilowatt hours, which means that around 500 households per year can be supplied with green electricity.
